Sara Novak

Science journalist who writes about the wonders of this planet we call home

Sara Novak is a science journalist based in South Carolina. She is contributing writer to Discover Magazine. Her work also appears in Scientific American, Popular Science, Sierra Magazine, New Scientist, and many more. She was a parenting columnist at The Post and Courier and managing editor of The Post and Courier’s parenting magazine, Lowcountry Parent. Before that, she wrote for Discovery Communications from 2006-2013. 

Prior to her work with Discovery Communications, Sara graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia. She is a candidate for a master’s degree in science writing from Johns Hopkins University, (expected graduation 2023).
