I am a researcher and educator interested in the relationships between people, nature, and power. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at Rutgers University’s Center for Cultural Analysis, where I am working on the theme of “the Commons.” I completed my PhD in Society and Environment at UC Berkeley’s Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management (ESPM).
My research focuses on the social dimensions of natural resource use, conflict, and governance. I root this work in political ecology, an approach that combines historical, political-economic, and cultural analysis with appreciation for the agency of nature.
