Public research university in Brazil

The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) is a public university based in Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais state, Brazil), with an advanced campus in Governador Valadares (in the same state). The institution has positioned itself as a scientific and cultural center in an area of more than three million inhabitants and is ranked among the best universities in Latin America, with both national and international recognition.

Present in the daily lives of students, from the elementary to the graduate level, UFJF invests in the qualification of its faculty and of its educational-technical staff, striving for constant updating of its laboratories and classrooms, as well as prioritizing a dialogue with society, meeting all the precepts of the teaching-research-extension tripod.

UFJF now has 93 options of undergraduate courses, and 36 master’s and 17 doctoral degree courses, in all areas of knowledge. More than 20,000 students walk around its campus on a daily basis, not counting the approximately three thousand students from distance education.
