Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the convenor of Longevity India
Deepak K. Saini is a professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the convenor of Longevity India. He leads the SAInI lab, which focuses on “Signalling in Aging, Inflammation, and Infection.” His research explores how G‑protein coupled receptors and receptor cross-talk regulate cellular aging, inflammation, and DNA damage responses in mammalian cells, using advanced imaging, genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. He also investigates two-component signal transduction in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, uncovering the pathogen’s survival mechanisms. With a PhD from AIIMS and postdoctoral training in the U.S., Prof. Saini has developed diagnostic tools, published widely, and mentors students at the forefront of aging and infection biology.
