Royal Surrey’s urology clinical director, Dimitrios Moschonas, noted that the hospital already holds the distinction of being the UK’s busiest single-site centre for robotic prostatectomies. The adoption of the Histolog Scanner builds on this reputation, reinforcing the hospital’s position as a leader in innovative prostate cancer care. In recent years, the team has also been recognised for pioneering approaches, such as teaching patients to safely remove their own catheters at home following robotic surgery, a scheme that earned national award recognition.
