Young Blood Institute
Institute researching therapeutic plasma exchange therapies
We established the Young Blood Institute to study new uses for well established therapeutic plasma exchange therapies which have been used for decades to address autoimmunity and have recently indicated previously undocumented potential to restore senescent (aging) immune systems, in the hope of preventing the onset of many age-related disease conditions.
In the spirit of Karl Landsteiner, the immunologist and scientist who won the Nobel prize in 1930 for his discovery of the ABO blood types, we hope to advance blood typing beyond the century-old ABO blood group system to include blood age and quality as a critical indicator of the potency of blood to restore the body’s immune system and hematological system functions naturally - as well as make age-specific blood treatment immunotherapies and medical know-how broadly available around the world.
