National university in Yokohama, Japan.
Yokohama National University was founded in 1949 as a national university based in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. While going through natural disasters and changing times, YNU has remained in the lead in churning out individuals equipped with practical knowledge and skills to be successful in society. In research, YNU has published numerous findings that are recognized globally, beyond the Japanese cultural and industrial boundaries.
Many students have devoted themselves to study at YNU, their eyes set to the future, harboring lofty ambitions. The faculty and staff, too, have squarely stood up to society’s big expectations and trust. National universities have traditionally upheld for themselves a mission of contributing to society, as institutions of higher learning, by creating new values that reflect the times. We take great pride that this mission has taken deep root at YNU as part of our school culture and ideal.
