Professor of Bioelectronics at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)
Vasiliki (Vasso) Giagka is an Associate Professor of Bioelectronics at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and leads the Technologies for Bioelectronics group at Fraunhofer IZM in Berlin. Her research focuses on developing active neural interfaces—flexible, miniaturized implants designed to interact directly with neural tissue. These devices aim to provide targeted therapies for conditions such as epilepsy, depression, diabetes, and paralysis, and also facilitate brain-machine communication for individuals with severe motor impairments. Dr. Giagka's work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, integrating expertise from engineering, neuroscience, and clinical practice to advance bioelectronic medicine.
