Senior Research Officer at Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health.
Dr Nicole Jenkins, with fellow Florey researchers Dr Gawain McColl and Professor Ashley Bush, published a new study in eLife Journal. Their research identified ways to lower iron levels in cells which improved brain ageing, fitness and lifespan in animal models.
They are continuing to investigate if this line of work could improve quality of life in neurodegenerative diseases.
