Michael J. Blaha, MD, MPH is a leading preventive cardiologist and epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, where he serves as Director of Clinical Research and heads the Cardiometabolic Clinic. He combines his clinical expertise—especially in interpreting cardiac CT scans and managing early or subclinical atherosclerosis—with extensive research: over 500 scientific publications on cardiovascular disease prevention, risk assessment, and therapy guidance. Blaha is also deeply involved in mentoring the next generation of cardiologists and researchers, and sits on advisory panels (including one for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration) that shape cardiovascular care and policy.
