Her work focuses on structural analysis of the brain, in particular the morphology of the cortex. Most recently she has focused on cortical intrinsic curvature. This type of curvature is mathematically fundamental to a surface and independent of how it is folded (mean curvature). Cortical intrinsic curvature arises from the differential expansion of the surface during development, and may be related to the underlying architecture of the cortex as well as its tangential connectivity.
