Kimer Med

A New Zealand-based biotechnology company

Kimer Med is a biotechnology company based in New Zealand, focused on developing broad-spectrum antivirals inspired by the DRACO antiviral. Led by Dr. Rishi Pandey, the team is working on large molecules, or biologics, that bind to long strands of viral double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), a target common to nearly all viruses.

Research and development take place in a fully equipped PC-2 laboratory in Nelson, New Zealand, drawing on the region’s renowned scientific community and Kimer Med's global partnerships. Independent laboratories in the United States confirm the company’s lab results. Established in 2020, Kimer Med aims to end viral diseases with a family of safe and effective broad-spectrum antivirals. Kimer Med’s founders, Phil Oliver and Rick Kiessig, with their combined experience in science, entrepreneurship, and management, launched the company to bring this vital antiviral technology to market.
