Professor of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine at Harvard University
Hugo Aerts, PhD, is a Professor at Harvard University and Director of the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Program at Harvard and Mass General Brigham. He leads NIH- and EU-funded initiatives—including the Quantitative Imaging Network and an ERC Consolidator grant—focused on applying deep learning to medical imaging to improve cancer prognosis and treatment. Highly cited, Aerts has authored numerous influential studies on AI-driven radiomics, CT and X-ray biomarkers, immunotherapy prediction, and clinical oncology. He holds a Master's in Engineering from Eindhoven and a PhD from Maastricht University, with a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard, and also serves as an adjunct professor at Maastricht—facilitating broad international collaboration
