Huaidong Du is an associate professor specializing in the China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) study, with research interests in diet, physical activity, adiposity, diabetes, and eye diseases. Since 2013, she has played a key role in coordinating the second and third resurveys of the CKB, each involving 25,000 participants from 10 regions in China.
Huaidong earned her MD in 1994 and worked as an ophthalmologist in China for eight years. She completed her MSc and PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology in 2009 at the Netherlands and subsequently joined the Clinical Trial Service Unit & Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU).
