Henan Normal University (HNU)

Henan Normal UniversityHNUis located in Xinxiang City of northern Henan Province. Founded in 1923, one of the key universities of Henan Province and supported by the Henan provincial government, HNU is one of the excellent universities in China in undergraduate teaching evaluation conducted by China’s Ministry of Education, and one of the supported universities in the education revitalization plan for China’s central and western area. Since 2015, HNU has been supported by the Henan provincial government and China’s Ministry of Education. In 2017, its major of Green Chemistry & Electric Source Materials was evaluated to be  part of the National Overseas Expertise Introduction Project for Discipline Innovation (“111 Project” for short).

At present there are 24 colleges, 83 undergraduate majors, 11 disciplines (Philosophy, Economics, Law, Education, Literature, History, Science, Engineering, Agronomy, Management and Art), 10 Doctoral degree programs for first-level disciplines of the national standard, 1 Doctorate professional degree authorization category, 4 centers for post-doctoral studies (Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science & Engineering, Biology), 27 Master’s degree programs for the first-level disciplines, 7 Master’s degree programs for the second-level disciplines, and 15 Master's professional degree authorization category. There are nearly 50,000 students in pursuit of different degrees. It boasts the one and only Pavarotti Music Art Center in the world, and a biological specimen museum which is the largest both in scale and variety in Henan province. HNU has an independent college (College of Xinlian), an affiliated middle school, an affiliated elementary school and a kindergarten.
