Frank Hu

Chair of the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Dr. Frank B. Hu is a highly respected nutrition and epidemiology expert serving as the Chair of the Department of Nutrition and holding the Fredrick J. Stare Professorship at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He's also a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Trained as an MD in China, he earned his MPH and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed postdoctoral work in nutritional epidemiology at Harvard. His research focuses on how diet, lifestyle, genetics, and metabolomics influence the development of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease—work that has shaped public health guidelines and earned him membership in the National Academy of Medicine.
