Liz Pennisi writes about biology, focusing primarily on genomics, evolution, microbiology, and organismal biology, with a smattering of ecology and behavior thrown in. She joined the staff of Science in 1996 and added editing to her job duties in 2007. She has an undergraduate degree in biology from Cornell University and a master's degree in science writing from Boston University. Stack Award for Interpreting Chemistry for the Public—The Scientist, and United Press International.
