Cureus
Peer-reviewed medical journal
Cureus is an open-access, peer-reviewed medical journal founded in 2009 by Stanford neurosurgeon John R. Adler and Alexander Muacevic. Originally named PeerEMed, it was rebranded as Cureus in 2012. The journal aims to make medical publishing more accessible and efficient, particularly for clinicians and researchers without extensive funding. It offers step-by-step templates to streamline article submissions and employs a rapid pre-publication peer review process. Additionally, Cureus features an optional post-publication peer review system, allowing readers to rate articles using its Scholarly Impact Quotient (SIQ) metric. In 2022, Cureus was acquired by Springer Nature, further expanding its reach in the medical community.
