Melike is a computational biologist striving to understand the proximal and ultimate mechanisms of ageing. Her research involves the development and use of computational approaches and spanned a wide range of topics including population genomics, ancient DNA studies, the evolution of gene expression, and cheminformatics. However, her deepest interest & passion revolve around the systems biology of ageing with a particular focus on microbiome-host interactions. Melike is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz Institute on Aging in Valenzano Lab.
