Dr. Ciro Chiappini is a Senior Lecturer in Nanomaterials and Biointerfaces at King’s College London, where he leads interdisciplinary research blending nanotechnology, bioengineering, and cell biology to develop innovative biomaterials that interact with living tissues. Since joining KCL in 2016, he has driven breakthroughs like the nanoneedle biopsy patch, securing an ERC Starting Grant in 2018 and earning international recognition through over 40 publications and multiple patents. His work aims to enable precision diagnostics and regenerative therapies by guiding cell behavior with advanced materials.
