Dr. Ann V. Griffith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics at UT Health San Antonio. Her research focuses on the thymus, a vital organ for T-cell development, particularly examining how aging affects thymic stromal cells and leads to decreased immune function. To study these rare and difficult-to-isolate cells, her lab employs innovative computational deconvolution techniques that map gene expression without requiring cell isolation. The ultimate goal of her work is to uncover mechanisms to preserve or restore thymic function, thereby enhancing immune responses in the aging population.
