Group leader at Precision Medicine and Metabolism Lab at CIC bioGUNE
Óscar Millet is a chemist turned molecular biologist who leads the Precision Medicine and Metabolism Lab at CIC bioGUNE. He holds degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry, then trained in advanced NMR techniques during a postdoc stint in Toronto. His lab applies nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and metabolomics to study how metabolism goes awry in diseases—both common ones like fatty liver disease and rare genetic disorders. Millet’s group also works on protein stability and therapeutic compounds, including pharmacological chaperones, and has spun off translational ventures.
