WholeMe (AdventHealth)
first-of-its-kind DNA study in Florida by AdventHealth
WholeMe is the first-of-its-kind DNA study in Florida intended to empower consumers with potentially life-saving information about their heart health. 10,000 people will have the opportunity to join the WholeMe study, in which California-based genomics company Helix will sequence their samples for the genes linked to familial hypercholesterolemia.
The primary objective of this study is to examine the influence on the health decisions made by study participants as a result of obtaining genomic insights directly related to their health.
The secondary objective of this study is to evaluate how these newly informed health care needs can be implemented into clinical care pathways involving the appropriate follow-up testing, education, and genetic counseling when appropriate.
