Synthetic Human Genome Initiative (SynHG)

UK-led project advancing human genome synthesis

Synthetic Human Genome Initiative (SynHG) is a bold UK-based research initiative that aims to develop the foundational tools, technologies and methods required to synthesise large segments of the human genome. Led by Jason Chin and backed by funding from Wellcome Trust, the project brings together researchers from multiple universities and embeds a dedicated social-science programme to address the ethical, economic and policy implications of human genome synthesis.
