Dr. Song‑Yi Park is an associate professor and cancer epidemiologist at the University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center, specializing in how diet, lifestyle, and demographic factors influence cancer and Alzheimer’s risk across diverse populations. She leads research using the Multiethnic Cohort to uncover racial and ethnic disparities in disease, including pioneering work showing high dementia prevalence in Native Hawaiians and evaluating novel Alzheimer’s biomarkers in minority groups. Her multidisciplinary studies also explore diet quality and chronic disease outcomes—contributing valuable insights on how nutrition and behavior affect health in understudied communities.
