Sharryse Piggott

WUNC’s PM Reporter

Sharryse Piggott is WUNC’s afternoon (PM) reporter, who joined the station in 2021 as a fellow on the American Homefront Project and became a regular reporter in 2022. Hailing from Pocomoke, Maryland, she spent four years as a Marine and five years with the North Carolina Army National Guard before transitioning into journalism. With over seven years of broadcast experience, Sharryse has interned at 101.9 Kiss in New Bern and worked as chief blogger and on-air talent for Digital Dope Radio in Atlanta. She holds a bachelor’s in English and a master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from UNC Wilmington. Beyond reporting, she hosts the podcast Connect Like Minds and covers a range of topics including local development, health, and climate issues for communities across North Carolina.
