I am a board-certified medical oncologist and physician-scientist focused on personalized care for people with breast cancer. I work closely with an exceptional team of surgeons, radiation oncologists, and nurses to provide the best care to my patients and their families.
My research focuses on cancer genomics to understand the reasons behind the resistance or response to therapy and ultimately to develop molecular biomarkers to guide precision medicine. I am developing liquid biopsy assays (circulating tumor DNA assays) to precisely detect tumor genomic changes in blood samples. This information may help us monitor the extent of the disease and its heterogeneity, predict a person’s response to treatment, and detect early-stage and minimal residual disease. My ultimate goal is to use the insights gained from these studies to develop new treatment strategies for people with breast cancer.
