Patricia J. Kolb

Patricia Kolb MA, MSW, PhD Professor has extensive professional practice experience as a Gerontological social worker in both community-based programs and a nursing home. She is the author of Understanding Aging and Diversity: Theories and Concepts (Routledge, 2014), editor of Social Work Practice with Ethnically and Racially Diverse Nursing Home Residents and Their Families (Columbia, 2007), and author of Caring for Our Elders: Multicultural Experiences with Nursing Home Placement (Columbia, 2003). Dr. Kolb is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and has served as Chair of GSA’s Research, Education, and Practice Committee. She is a Fellow in the Social Work Section of the New York Academy of Medicine and member of the Executive Committee and Student Program Committee. Dr. Kolb traveled to Brazil and South Africa as a delegate in National Association of Social Work People-to-People delegations and has researched gerotranscendence theory and practice in Sweden.
