Nick Tucker is a Lecturer in the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Science at The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK. He completed his PhD in Molecular Microbiology at the University of East Anglia and was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the BBSRC John Innes Centre. His main research focus is the biochemistry of nitrosative stress and transcriptional regulation in bacteria, with a particular focus on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Gram-negative bacteria. He is also actively engaged in bacterial genomics and protein biophysics. He currently holds grants from both MRC and BBSRC relating to antibiotic drugs that target transcription in bacterial pathogens. Nick is a member of both the Biochemical Society and the Society for General Microbiology.
