Professor Metin Sitti is a leading figure in robotics and biomedical engineering, currently serving as the President of Koç University in Istanbul since 2023. He previously directed the Physical Intelligence Department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart, Germany, from 2014 to 2023, where he was the sole Turkish fellow of the Max Planck Society .

His research focuses on small-scale robotics, including wireless miniature medical robots, bioinspired adhesives, and physical intelligence. These innovations aim to enhance human health through minimally invasive medical devices and smart materials .
