Assistant Professor in Ageing and Psychophysiology at Coventry University
Dr. Mathew Hill is an Assistant Professor in Ageing and Psychophysiology at Coventry University's Research Centre for Physical Activity, Sport and Exercise Sciences (PASES). With a PhD in Ageing and Human Movement Science from Coventry University, he previously served as a Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at the University of Northampton before returning to Coventry in 2017.
Dr. Hill's research focuses on understanding the interplay between emotional, cognitive, and sensory-motor systems in balance control, particularly in older adults. He investigates psychological factors such as fear and anxiety, and their impact on postural control, aiming to develop interventions to mitigate fall risks. His interdisciplinary approach combines physiology, psychology, and neuroscience, utilizing techniques like EEG, EMG, and 3D movement analysis.
