Mark Anastasio is the Head of Bioengineering and Donald Biggar Willett Professor in Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Previously, he served as Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. His research mainly focuses on bioimaging at multi-Scale, biophotonics, image reconstruction, signal detection, and signal processing.

Anastasio completed Ph.D in Medical Physics at The University of Chicago.
