Neuroradiologist and professor of Radiology at Mayo Clinic
Jonathan M. Morris, M.D., is a neuroradiologist and professor of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he directs the 3D Anatomic Modeling Unit (AMU). His work spans minimally invasive spine intervention — including thermal ablation of spinal tumors and bone cement augmentation — as well as point-of-care 3D printing: producing patient-specific models, surgical guides and prosthetic devices tailored to complex and rare anatomies. Under his leadership, the AMU has grown into a full-scale, hospital-based manufacturing facility that serves multiple surgical specialties and also pioneers virtual and augmented reality tools for preoperative planning, intraoperative guidance and medical education. His vision is rooted in harnessing engineering and additive manufacturing within clinical care to enable surgeons to visualize, rehearse and deliver precision surgery that would otherwise be unachievable.
