Dr. Jesus Peteiro obtained a degree in Medicine (University of Santiago de Compostela) and a specialist in Cardiology (University of Navarra) in 1990. He has since worked with the University Hospital Complex of La Coruña (CHUAC) and is an honorary professor at the Faculty of Medicine of La Coruña. His stress echocardiography group received the award for best publication in MEDICINA in 2009 according to lancet magazine
