Iain Nixon

Consultant ENT Surgeon

Iain Nixon is a Consultant ENT Surgeon and Honorary Clinical Reader at the University of Edinburgh with a specialization in head and neck surgery, particularly thyroid cancer. He has a strong research focus on oncological and functional outcomes for these patients. Nixon's clinical training included time at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital in London and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and he completed a PhD in thyroid cancer clinical outcomes at Amsterdam University in 2013. He has published over 125 peer-reviewed papers and authored more than 40 book chapters. Nixon holds various prestigious awards, including the NHS Research Scotland Fellowship and the Syme Medal.
