Howard Sesso

Epidemiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University

Dr. Howard D. Sesso, ScD, MPH, is a leading epidemiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University, where he serves as Associate Epidemiologist in Preventive Medicine and holds faculty positions at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research focuses on large-scale randomized trials and epidemiologic studies examining how nutrition, lifestyle, and dietary supplements affect cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cancer, and age-related illnesses. He is a Co-Principal Investigator of the COSMOS trial, which investigates the effects of cocoa flavanols and multivitamins on heart and cancer prevention in older adults. Over his career, Dr. Sesso has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and is actively involved in mentoring and teaching courses in clinical trials and epidemiology.
