Dr. Cornelius A. Thiels, D.O., M.B.A., is a hepatobiliary and pancreas surgical oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He specializes in complex cancer surgeries—such as retroperitoneal sarcomas, pancreatic, neuroendocrine, and colorectal tumors—using minimally invasive and robotic techniques, and leads the hepatic artery infusion pump chemotherapy program. As Associate Chair for Innovation and head of the Surgical AI² Lab, he merges clinical expertise with data science, quality improvement, and AI-driven research to enhance surgical outcomes.
