Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at Notre Dame
Cody J. Smith is the Elizabeth and Michael Gallagher Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. His research focuses on neural development, stem cells, and neural regeneration, with a particular interest in understanding how the organization of cells in the nervous system impacts behaviour and disease. Smith uses advanced imaging techniques to investigate cellular processes that affect neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. He holds a PhD from Vanderbilt University and was named an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow in Neuroscience in 2017.
