Chaitanya Erady is a policy analyst in biomedical science, contributing to the horizon-scanning health-related innovations, and working on projects related to personalised prevention. She is passionate about exploring the potential of upcoming genomic technologies in revolutionising the healthcare industry and how health-related data is handled and protected to provide timely and equitable patient care.
During her PhD at the University of Cambridge, Chaitanya investigated how omics-based technologies (genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics) could improve understanding of neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression. Previous experience includes placements at Cambridge Rare Disease Network (CRDN), Cambridge iTeams and as a senior analyst at a student-run think tank – Good data initiative, Cambridge – where she explored how digital technologies and their adoption have helped mental health diagnosis, and reported on the future of digital healthcare systems in African countries.
