Caroline Jay

Professor of Computer Science at the University of Manchester

Professor Caroline Jay is a distinguished academic serving as a Professor of Computer Science and the Head of Research in the School of Engineering at the University of Manchester. She holds qualifications in both Psychology and Computer Science, with a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Beyond her academic roles, Professor Jay is the Research Director of the Software Sustainability Institute, a UK Research and Innovation-funded national organization dedicated to promoting the role of software in research. In this capacity, she leads initiatives to provide training, community support, and develop evidence-based policies to enhance software sustainability in research contexts.
