Dr. Arunashis Sau is an academic clinician specializing in the intersection of cardiology and data science. He is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer and a Cardiology Specialist Registrar with expertise in electrophysiology and cardiac devices. His primary research focuses on applying machine learning, including deep learning, to surface ECGs and intracardiac electrograms to advance cardiovascular care.
Dr. Sau completed his PhD on AI-enhanced electrocardiography (AI-ECG) for cardiovascular risk prediction, earning multiple prestigious awards, including the BCS, HRS, BHRS, and EHRA young investigator prizes. He studied medicine at Imperial College London, achieving First Class Honours in Cardiovascular Sciences and distinctions in clinical and medical sciences. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee.
With clinical training in the North West Thames deanery and a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship, Dr. Sau is at the forefront of integrating AI into cardiology to improve risk prediction and patient outcomes.
