Professor of Surgery at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm
Anna Martling is a distinguished Professor of Surgery at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, and a senior physician specializing in colorectal surgery. She defended her doctoral thesis on rectal cancer in 2003, became a board-certified surgeon in 2004, and rose to full professorship in 2014. Her research focuses on translating advances in colorectal cancer treatment into clinical practice, with particular interest in biomarkers, radiotherapy, optimal timing of surgery, and innovative surgical techniques.
