Neko health raises $700 million to scale preventive healthcare in the US

Technology combines health scans and data to spot potential health risks before symptoms appear

Key points from article :

Swedish preventive health company Neko Health has raised $700 million in Series C funding, giving the business a valuation of approximately $1.8 billion and providing fresh capital for its expansion into the United States. The round, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and co-led by OG Venture Partners, represents a significant increase from the $260 million Series B the company completed in January 2025.

Neko Health is attempting to shift healthcare from a reactive model toward one centered on prevention, continuous monitoring and earlier disease detection. Since launching in February 2023, the company says more than 350,000 people have joined its waitlist or registered for a scan, while more than 100,000 scans have been completed across clinics in Sweden and the UK.

The latest funding will support Neko’s first US clinic, which is expected to open in New York, while also accelerating research and development. A major focus will be expanding the company’s proprietary diagnostic technologies and using its growing clinical dataset to identify health risks before they develop into serious disease.

Neko’s model combines comprehensive in-clinic health assessments with increasingly continuous sources of information. A recent update to its health scan added body composition measurements and clinician review of wearable-device data. By combining periodic medical assessments with information gathered between visits, the company hopes to build a more detailed picture of how an individual’s health changes over time.

This longitudinal approach could become one of Neko’s most valuable assets. Repeat scans generate multimodal datasets that may help researchers identify patterns, biomarkers and risk signals that are difficult to detect through conventional episodic healthcare. In theory, this could support better risk prediction and more personalized preventive interventions.

Early results are encouraging. Neko reports that returning members have shown statistically significant improvements in five of seven major biomarkers. It also says that three-quarters of people initially identified with severe or potentially life-threatening conditions are now either healthy or have those conditions under control.

However, early detection is not the same as prevention. Comprehensive screening may identify disease sooner, but demonstrating that it reduces disease incidence, improves long-term outcomes or extends healthy lifespan will require substantially more evidence.

Neko’s vertically integrated strategy may help it address that challenge. The company develops much of its imaging hardware, software and analytical infrastructure internally, allowing it to standardize data collection across its clinics and rapidly refine its technology.

Its US expansion will therefore test more than consumer demand for premium health screening. It will test whether a consumer-focused diagnostics business can evolve into a large-scale evidence and data platform capable of influencing how preventive medicine is practiced.

With aging populations and chronic disease placing increasing pressure on healthcare systems, interest in proactive care is growing rapidly. Neko Health now has significant capital, a rapidly expanding dataset and ambitious technology. The next challenge is proving that its model can deliver measurable improvements in health, not simply more information about it.
