Key points from article :

A digital version of the NHS Health Check is set to be introduced on the popular NHS App. This new feature will allow users to assess their own health at home and have the results automatically integrated into their GP's electronic health record.

The NHS England and the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) have announced plans to pilot this digital service in three local authorities: Norfolk County Council, Medway Council, and the London Borough of Lambeth. The aim is to expand the service nationwide, aiming to deliver approximately one million health checks within the first four years.

The NHS App has seen a significant increase in usage recently, with over 34 million registered users in England. The addition of a new prescriptions feature earlier this year further boosted its popularity. The digital health check is the latest addition to the app's growing range of services.

As part of a wider expansion of the NHS Health Check program, NHS England and DHSC have announced a partnership with various employers to offer the checks as part of a community-focused healthcare approach. Over 16 million people are eligible for these checks, but only about 40% of those invited have completed them.

The Minister for Public Health Prevention emphasized the importance of early intervention in preventing deadly diseases.
