Shanxi Medical University is a public medical university located in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China. It was founded in 1919. The university has evolved through several changes, eventually becoming an independent university in 1953 and attaining university status in 1996. It has three campuses and a number of affiliated and teaching hospitals.
