Professor in Department of Pediatrics at University of Ottawa
Jean-Philippe Chaput is the Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at University of Ottawa, as well as a Research Scientist at Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group, CHEO Research Institute. His current research interests include sleep, childhood obesity, physical activity, sedentary behaviour and health, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Chaput’s research focuses on health promotion and the prevention of chronic diseases. He is particularly interested in the epidemiology and public health aspects of sleep and other lifestyle behaviours such as screen time and physical activity.
Chaput obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biology and Master's degree in Kinesiology at University of Sherbrooke, followed by Ph.D. in Kinesiology at Laval University, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Human Nutrition at University of Copenhagen.
