Nick Ohly

Orthopaedic surgeon at Golden Jubilee National Hospital

After postgraduate training in Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh, Mr Ohly completed a hip and knee fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He was a locum consultant in Edinburgh before taking up a substantive NHS consultant post at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in 2014.

Mr Ohly now runs a high-volume highly specialised elective practice focused exclusively on hip and knee replacement, including computer-aided surgery, and with sub-specialist interests in complex and revision knee replacement and tissue-sparing hip surgery (direct superior approach). He now also offers Mako robotic-arm assisted total hip, total knee and partial knee replacement surgery (medial, lateral and patellofemoral).

Mr Ohly regularly hosts visiting surgeons from across the UK and Europe and he teaches internationally on advanced techniques in hip and knee replacement. He remains committed to clinical research and is currently the chief investigator on a number of actively recruiting studies.
