Dr Nazif Alic is interested in how changes in gene expression drive the plasticity of adult physiology and lifespan in the fruit fly. His work forcuses on transcriptional regulation, encompassing both specific transcription factors as well as the basal transcriptional machinery.
Dr Alic’s teaching is primarily on the topics of ageing and gene regulation. He is the lead for the Diseases of Ageing module. In addition, he teaches on the Biology of Ageing and Advanced Molecular Biology.
