Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
Moshe Shoham is a professor emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion and a leading figure in medical robotics. He is best known for founding Mazor Robotics, whose spine surgery robot was later acquired by Medtronic for over $1.6 billion. Shoham has also co-founded several other robotics startups, including Microbot Medical, Diagnostic Robotics, Tamar Robotics, and ForSight Robotics. A fellow of IEEE and ASME and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, he holds over 50 patents and has made major contributions to robotic kinematics and surgical innovation.
