Matthew Perrone is an award-winning health reporter with the Associated Press, specializing in the intersection of medicine, money and public policy. His stories on the American opioid epidemic, medical device safety and other topics have been recognized by the National Press Club, the Overseas Press Club, Scripps Howard Awards, Editor and Publisher, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of Health Care Journalists, among others. 

Matthew completed BA Journalism at the George Washington University. Recipient of fellowships to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
